Following the extensive renovation of this old school house, turning it into a family home, we were tasked with creating a series of gardens to tie into this family country home. The gardens mostly wrap around the property at the top of a significant slope. The front and side gardens have been shaped using the land’s natural contours. Retaining walls were built to allow for a large parking area, with additional raised beds on the property, constructed at the entrance to allow for planting to come up to window level.
A courtyard was built at the back of the property, accessed from the house through a natural stone arch. The courtyard has been designed to create a series of raised beds to accommodate various plants, with the centre bed blending into the existing buildings.
